There’s no shortage of fantastic female speakers at Web Summit 2015. If you’re unsure where to start, here’s a brief list of some of the most inspirational women in tech speaking this week.

The Russian supermodel and founder of digital charity platform Elbi talks to Matt Garrahan of the Financial Times about her venture into app technology. Elbi launched last month, and allows users to donate small sums of money to a variety of UK registered charities. According to Forbes, Vodianova was the third highest earning model in 2012, and she founded the Naked heart Foundation charity in 2004.

Kira Orange Jones is the Executive Director of Teach for America, an organisation that recruits graduates to help teach children living in poverty across the United States. Orange Jones was recently chosen as one of TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2015. Her keynote focuses on how she helped to mobilise networks in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Google’s Director of Product and Engineering opens Day Two of the Enterpreise Stage by examining the future of user engagement with apps. Chennapragada is the Director of Google Now, the Artificial Intelligence personal assistant that aims to replace search, or at least improve it. Prior to Google, she worked as a Software Architect for Akamai Technologies, and a Software Engineer for Oracle.
WHO: DR. CYNTHIA BREAZEAL (JIBO)

Associate Professor at MIT, and Founder of Jibo, Dr. Cynthia Breazeal takes to the Machine Stage to discuss the future of robots within the home. Breazeal describes Jibo as the ‘first family robot’, which aims to help families communicate more efficiently. In 2014, Breazeal was recognised as one of Fortune’s Most Promising Women Engineers, and her work was named as one of TIME magazines Best Inventions of 2008.
WHO: SAMANTHA BARRY (CNN)

An Irish native and former RTE Researcher, Samantha Barry is CNN’s Head of Social Media and Senior Director of Strategy. Having previously worked at BBC, InterMedia, and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Barry took over Social Media in CNN’s New York office in July 2014. Barry’s keynote focuses on the ways in which CNN has incorporated social media to stay at the forefront of modern news.

The CEO of Yandex Data Factory, part of Russia’s leading search engine, examines the implications of the revolution that is machine learning. Zavalishina has been in Yandex since 2000, where she started as Chief Product Officer, and helped the company grow to be the worlds fourth largest search engine. Zavalishina’s work at Yandex Data Factory focuses on the use of data analytics in predicting future patterns of human behaviour and to improve business operations.

With online privacy becoming a growing issue in 2015, Nico Sell has been at the forefront of this as CEO of Wickr, an ‘unhackable mobile messaging app’. Sell is part of a movement that confronts the idea of data being used for profit, and her app promises that all users messages will not be stored, and thus cannot be handed over to government officials or third parties. For her Web Summit keynote, Sell questions what steps we can take to protect our personal information from tech giants.

Founder of Rodial Skincare, Maria Hatzistefanis appears on the Web Summit’s first ever Fashion Stage on Thursday Morning. Hatziestefanis began writing for the beauty section of Seventeen Magazine, before graduating with an MBA from Columbia Business School. In 1999, she launched Rodial, and the company has been expanding ever since, with the launch of Rodial Cosmetics in 2014, and clients such as Kylie Jenner leading Rodial campaigns. Hatzistefanis’s ability to harness social media to grow her business knows no bounds, and her keynote focuses on using this power to converse with customers in the modern age.
WHO: JULIE MEYER (ARIADNE CAPITAL)
WHAT: SHOULD CONSUMER DATA BE A LEGAL ASSET?

CEO of Ariadne Capital and co-founder of First Tuesday, Julie Meyer discusses the possibilities of using consumer data as an asset for the digital economy. Meyer is an entrepreneur and investor, and has previously worked with Skype, lastminute.com, SpinVox and Monitise. She has appeared on Dragon’s Den, writes for Frobes, and was named as one of the Wall Street Journal’s 30 most influential women in Europe in 2010.
